About

Mubarak Umar is an environmental geographer, looking into human-environment interactions and their adverse effects. My area of interest is water as a natural resource. Using a combined lens of political ecology and political economy, my research explores the social creation of water by exploring ecological and economic factors that drive water production and distribution strategies in the Tampa Bay Region.
