About

Martine Stephens is Director of the Writing Center, Coordinator of Peer Tutoring Programs, and part-time associate professor in the English Department. She completed her graduate studies in English with concentrations in Folklore Studies, Dramatic Literature, and Medieval Literature at The Ohio State University.

At OWU, she has taught the College Writing Seminar, College Success Skills for International Students, The OWU Experience (first year seminar), Advanced Composition, Myth, Legend and Folklore, and Playwriting. Her academic interests include the teaching of writing, folklore and cultural studies, reading and writing short fiction and dramatic literature, and the study of personal narrative.

Publications / Presentations

She has co-authored the book Living Folklore: An Introduction to the Study of People and Their Traditions, and has presented her work at academic writing and folklore conferences.
