About
Ramon Carreno's most recent research has focused on the systematics of parasitic nematodes in mammals, birds, and arthropods, as part of a broader interest in wildlife parasitology and wildlife diseases.
Research approaches incorporate light and electron microscopy, as well as cloning and DNA sequencing.
Dr. Carreno also serves as Ohio Wesleyan's pre-veterinary medicine program adviser. In addition to English, Carreno is fluent in French, German, and Spanish.
Areas of Interest / Expertise
- parasite taxonomy
- wildlife diseases
- diagnostic parasitology
