Ohio Wesleyan University prides itself with its first-class athletic facilities. Whether for training, meeting, or competing, OWU’s sports and fitness facilities uphold the University’s high standards. These areas can be used for a variety of events, and all offer a wide range of options in their use.
The Meek Center boasts a 10-lane pool, a 13-foot-deep diving well, and 1-meter and 3-meter diving boards.
The facility also is Ohio Wesleyan's first "green" building, featuring a geothermal energy system that heats and cools the building, and a heat-recovery system that heats water for the pool. The Meek Center also includes a reflective clay-tile roof as well as recycled, regional, and low-VOC (volatile organic chemical) building materials.
Branch Rickey Arena seats 1,450 for its basketball games. It is apart of the Rickey Center, which includes the adjacent Gordon Field House. The Gordon Field House is home to a five-lane track and indoor tennis courts. The floor space in the field house is larger than a football field. Also in the center are racquetball, handball, and squash courts.
Edwards Gym includes another full hardwood basketball court, expansive free weight and nautilus weight room.
Selby is the fourth-largest football stadium in the NCAA Division III. Dating back to 1929, the stadium seats 9,100. Improvements to the stadium include complete rebuilding of the track with an all-weather surface and installation of new seating, pressbox, scoreboard, locker and training rooms.
A new Field Turf artificial playing surface was installed for the 2014-15 academic year, lights for the 2010-11 academic year, and a video scoreboard in the spring of 2011, making the venue one of the most impressive among NCAA Division III institutions.
