Sunday Family Days!

In January, the Ross Art Museum's family and community events are scheduled to include:

  • 6-8 p.m. Jan. 16: Opening reception for "Caribbean Transformers: Becoming and Being in the New World." (Open to all.) Join the Ross for this Thursday night event to celebrate an exhibit by Jamaican contemporary figurative artist Alicia Brown, MFA. Brown's work investigates colonial histories and legacies through portraiture. Guests will enjoy Caribbean-themed refreshments.
  • 2-3 p.m. Jan. 19: MLK Day Celebration. (Pre-K through third grade.) Starting at 2 p.m., learn who Martin Luther King Jr. was and why he was important. After the reading, children will complete a related coloring activity.
  • 2-3 p.m. Jan. 26: Words and Pictures! (Pre-K through third grade.) Starting at 2 p.m., children will enjoy an art-themed story and then enjoy making some art of their own to take home.

In February the Museum will hold:

  • 2-3 p.m. Feb. 9: Kids We "Heart" Art Event (Pre-k to 5th grade.) Join us to decorate Valentines, and tell us which artwork you "heart" the most by leaving a heart sticker next to your favorite artwork.
  • During open hours (1-5 p.m.) Feb. 23: Kids Museum Scavenger Hunt (1st-3rd grade.) Bring your little ones to engage with art. Tour the museum at your own pace with a children's scavenger hunt game and win a prize for a completed card!
