The Division of Finance and Administration serves the campus community through the maintenance of facilities and campus grounds, oversight of construction projects, management of university finances and purchasing, and support for the needs of university employees. The Division is led by Stephen Lippiello, the Vice President for Finance and Administration and Treasurer.
Steve Lippiello, MBA, brings more than three decades of experience in finance, accounting, strategy, and operational management to his role, including 15 years in senior higher education leadership.
At Ohio Wesleyan, Steve oversees the Division of Finance and Administration, partnering with the president, provost, and other senior leaders to provide strategic fiscal and comprehensive operational leadership. He works to ensure that planning, operational, and budget activities support institutional goals while simultaneously providing students with a premier liberal arts education and residential campus experience.
OWU's Division of Finance and Administration includes, among other areas, the offices of Accounting; Financial Planning and Budgeting; Human Resources; Summer Conferences and Events; and Facilities. The Division also oversees contracts for the OWU Campus Store, dining services, and custodial services/groundskeeping.
During his career, Steve has led numerous revenue-generation initiatives, led the implementation of significant operational efficiencies and cost savings, overseen major facility construction and renovation projects, built and enhanced institutional transparency tools and reporting systems, strengthened vendor accountability and outcomes, and developed supportive and trust-based relationships with colleagues.
Before joining Ohio Wesleyan, he served in vice presidential roles at West Virginia Northern Community College; Westmoreland County Community College in Youngwood, Pennsylvania; La Roche University in Pittsburgh; and Pittsburgh Technical College. He also taught for 13 years as an adjunct accounting and finance instructor for undergraduate and graduate programs at Carlow University in Pittsburgh.
Steve holds a Master of Business Administration from the University of Pittsburgh and a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from Duquesne University in Pittsburgh.
