All students residing on campus are required to purchase a University meal plan. The University's dining services vendor, AVI, makes every effort to accommodate students with dietary restrictions. Rare modifications to traditional meal plan options can be considered for students with diagnosed medical conditions that cannot be accommodated by AVI.


Accommodations or exemptions from the meal plan will not be provided based on menu preferences or cost of the meal plans.

Modified dining plan options will be considered if the student provides written certification from a licensed, treating medical provider that a current physical condition or medical circumstance is such that the campus dining options cannot meet their dietary needs. 

Students are typically asked to meet with an AVI representative to discuss available options and accommodations prior to requesting other accommodations.

Petitions should be submitted by the tenth day of the semester to be considered for a modification for the current semester. Unless there are extenuating circumstances, petitions submitted after the tenth day will be considered for the following semester.
