OWU has partnered with OhioHealth to offer employees two opportunities to receive a flu shot on campus.
Dates and Times
- Friday, October 2, 8 a.m. to noon
- Friday, October 23, 8 a.m. to noon
Location
Hamilton-Williams Campus Center, entrance immediately outside the Campus Bookstore. Schedule a time here.
What to Bring
- Employees should bring a printout of the front and back of their insurance card to leave with healthcare providers. In addition to OWU health insurance coverage, OhioHealth will be able to bill Anthem, Cigna, Medical Mutual, Optima Health UnitedHealthcare, and OhioHealthy. Other payments -- including cash -- cannot be accepted.
- Employees also should bring a photo ID such as a driver’s licence or OWU ID.
What to Expect
- Everyone is required to wear a facemask upon arrival and keep it on the entire time.
- Wear a short-sleeved shirt or loose-fitting clothing so the upper arm is easily accessible.
- Wait 15 minutes after vaccination to monitor for adverse reactions, per CDC recommendations.
Participants should be symptom-free on the day of their appointment. If they are experiencing any COVID-related symptoms, they should reschedule their flu vaccine appointment and call their primary care physician to request a COVID test.
Coronavirus Symptoms Include
- Fever higher than 100.4 degrees Fahrenheit
- Cough
- Sore throat
- Nasal congestion / runny nose
- Body aches or body chills
- Headache
- Shortness of breath
- New loss of taste or smell
- Nausea / Vomiting / Diarrhea
