Launched by OWU's DEI Council, Student Engagement and Success, University Communications, and created by Nick Stull '07, the Human Mosaic Project in the Hamilton-Williams Campus Center atrium embraces diversity and intersecting identities while bringing an inspiring visual element to one of our most frequented campus spaces.

"The Human Mosiac project is a collection of portraits celebrating the rich and complex tapestry that makes up our OWU community. With a centered purpose of diversity, equity, and inclusion, the individuals represented in the murals span various backgrounds and identities conveyed through differences and commonalities between race, ethnicity, religion, age, gender identification, and body type.

A predominant theme throughout the project is a push and pull between individuality and universality. The portraits will convey specific individuals with specific themes and symbols relating to their own complex identities.

The Human Mosaic is illustrated with bright colors and dynamic shapes, providing impact and visual interest from the upper vantage point of the interior window frames. Symbols and patterns from each portrait float off the picture plane and intermingle with the imagery of neighboring portraits, suggesting the universal human experience we all share," - Nick Stull '07, Hamilton-Williams Campus Center Mural Artist.

The Human Mosaic project was made possible through funding from The President's Circle.
