As part of the OWU Connection Grants, Theory to Practice Grants empower the OWU community to explore deeper, increase community impact, travel further, and step into the professional world.

Recently, students have used Theory-to-Practice Grants to study dementia in rural Tanzania, accounting systems in Australia, the refugee crisis in France, and agriculture and ecology in Guatemala.

Larynn Cutshaw traveled to Australia to learn more about the Save the Tasmanian Devil Program (STDP).
Four students and two faculty combined studies in history, English literature, geology, and environmental science during a 177-mile hike along Offa's Dyke and the border between England and Wales.
Mariama Goodwin and Emma Beale traveled to Paris to study terrorism from multiple angles.

Karson Stevenson traveled to the Netherlands, France, and England to explore the relationship between alcohol-induced aggression and sports-related violence.
Ryan Bishop and Spencer Zhang earned a Theory-to-Practice Grant to support research into the status of LGBT+ rights in Taiwan. Their visit included interviewing legislator Yu Mei Nu, a leading advocate for same-sex marriage in Taiwan.
