Ohio Wesleyan's International Studies program is ranked as one of the top 10 "Best Value" international studies programs in the nation (College Factual). Whether you are interested in examining issues in the world in general, or in a particular region of the world, the cross-disciplinary nature of International Studies at OWU gives you the opportunity to work closely with a variety of professors and develop a major that satiates your intellectual interests.
You'll study a core curriculum that includes global issues, international economics, and international politics. You're encouraged to study at least one foreign language and spend at least one semester studying or interning abroad. An integrative senior seminar will help tie everything together.
ECON 370 or ECON 372; HIST 380 or PG 361; PG 360; one language course beyond 110 and 111; and one course each from three of four areas set forth in the catalog.

Carly raised funds to build two schools in Vietnam before graduating from OWU to accept a teaching position with Teach for America.
As an OWU student, Brenda studied abroad in Jordan, where she focused on health and community development. She currently is a volunteer coordinator/guest house manager in Haiti.
During your time at Ohio Wesleyan, you can apply to live in one of OWU's Small Living Units, such as Citizens of the World House, which serves as a meeting place for students with international interests.
With students from more than 40 countries on campus, the world is here. And you'll be able to participate in clubs and organizations including VIVA (promoting the cultures of Latin America) and SANGAM (highlighting South Asian cultures).
Each semester, the program hosts guest lectures from global scholars.
This is the perfect place to learn more about international organizations. As a club member, you'll participate in annual National Model United Nations simulations and regional conferences.
